Author Guidelines

1. Publication Fees

The standard publication fee (article processing charge / APC) is $100 for authors affiliated with foreign institutions.

Due to martial law in Ukraine, APCs are waived for Ukrainian authors, and publication is free of charge.

A separate policy supports early-career researchers from Ukraine: full-time, state-funded PhD students are exempt from all publication fees, provided they submit a single-authored article and supply a certificate from the postgraduate studies office of their affiliated institution.

2. Submission

Submit your manuscript via the Submission Form, or send a single manuscript file by email to educationalchallengesjournal@gmail.com. Before submitting, review the Journal Policies to ensure your work aligns with the journal's ethical and procedural standards.

3. Eligibility and Originality

Articles must be original and must outline the problems, issues, and key results of the author's research. All articles are verified by anti-plagiarism software for originality.

Submission implies that the manuscript has not been published previously, is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and — if accepted — will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language.

By submitting a manuscript, the author(s) agree to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0) and to the principles of ethics of scientific publications as recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics.

4. Manuscript Formatting

4.1 General Text Requirements

Manuscripts should be 4,000–6,000 words, typed in Times New Roman 14-point with 1.5 line spacing. Margins must be 2 cm on all sides. In-text citations must follow APA Style (7th edition).

4.2 Writing Style

Follow the general style guidelines set out in the EASE Guidelines for Authors and Translators of Scientific Articles to be Published in English.

Accuracy and clarity should be the primary goals of scientific writing. Limit your literature review, ideas, and discussion to your specific topic. Avoid vague terminology and excessive prose. Use short sentences; any sentence exceeding 40 words should generally be rewritten as two. Avoid unnecessary adjectives and adverbs.

Write with a measure of formality, using scientific language and avoiding conjunctions, slang, or discipline- or region-specific terminology. Write in the active voice (e.g., "we performed the experiment…"). Aim for an average sentence length of 15–20 words across the whole document.

The editors reserve the right to make final adjustments to the manuscript to ensure consistency within the journal.

5. Manuscript Structure

⚠ NOTE: Please ensure that your manuscript is prepared in accordance with the official template. The template is available for download by clicking on the following links: DOCX, DOC або PDF.

5.1 Title Page

The title page must include:

  • the article title in English and in Ukrainian or your native language;
  • full names of all authors – maximum 4–5;
  • each author's affiliation: scientific degree and academic rank, institutional position, email address, full institutional name and address (city, country), and ORCID ID as a full profile link;
  • a high-quality photo of the author(s).

If authors belong to different institutions, use superscript digits to link author names to their respective institutions.

Example:
Author's First name and Family name¹, & Author's First name and Family name²

¹ Affiliation & Short Biography (academic title & degree; affiliation; email address; ORCID ID as full link)
² Affiliation & Short Biography (academic title & degree; affiliation; email address; ORCID ID as full link)

5.2 Abstract Page

The abstract must be structured (250–350 words / approximately 1,800 characters) and divided into four labeled sections:

  • Purpose – clearly describes the rationale for the study.
  • Methodology – briefly describes the methods, materials, and procedures used; includes sample sizes where appropriate.
  • Results – lists the basic findings without introduction or interpretation.
  • Conclusions – states the key conclusions as clearly as possible; may include a brief interpretation or recommendations for future research.

Following the abstract, provide 5–7 keywords (not already appearing in the title), listed in alphabetical order.

The abstract and keywords must also appear in Ukrainian or your native language.

5.3 Body Text

The body text must be organized in the following order:

Introduction · Methodology · Results · Discussion · Conclusions · Acknowledgements (if applicable) · Conflict of Interests · Funding · Artificial Intelligence Statement · References

INTRODUCTION

The introduction should be comprehensible to a general reader. Briefly introduce the problem, with particular emphasis on recent data, and provide sufficient background without excessive length. It must not exceed one-quarter of the total article length (approximately 1,000–1,500 words) and should describe the aim and scope of the problem, include an analysis of prior research, and state the Purpose of the study.

METHODOLOGY

Provide a concise but complete description of the research type and the selection of methods, materials, techniques, and procedures used. Typically consists of three subsections:

Participants. Describe the selection of subjects, including controls. Include relevant details such as age, gender, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and randomization methods.

Procedure. A step-by-step summary of the research execution — concise, precise, and logical. Identify equipment, tools, and protocol for data acquisition. Established methods should be cited by name and reference.

Statistical Analysis. List all statistical tests used and explain the rationale for each. State the level of significance and the statistical software program. Studies involving human subjects must include a statement of informed consent and compliance with the 2008 revision of the Helsinki Declaration.

RESULTS

Concisely and reasonably summarize the findings. Present information in a logical sequence in the text, with tables and illustrations referenced from the text. Restrict tables and figures to the number needed to support the paper's argument, and do not duplicate data in both graphs and tables. Report numbers of observations and note any exclusions or losses (e.g., dropouts). Do not repeat all tabular or graphical data in the text – emphasize only the most important observations. Present findings without interpretation; interpretations should follow in the Discussion section, with explanations addressing each research question.

DISCUSSION

Interpret study findings in the context of results from other relevant studies. Do not repeat data from the Introduction or Results. Address the implications of the findings and their limitations, including implications for future research.

CONCLUSIONS

Must be clearly linked to the purpose of the study. Include recommendations where appropriate. Avoid unqualified statements or conclusions not fully supported by the data.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS (if applicable)

List all contributors who do not meet authorship criteria and describe each person's role. Disclose all financial and material support.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

State whether conflicts of interest exist. If none: "The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this paper."

FUNDING

If none: "The authors declare that this study received no specific financial support."

If applicable: "This study received financial support from Fund #XXXXX / Grant #XXXXX."

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE STATEMENT

Authors must include a statement specifying whether AI tools were used and, if so, for what purpose. The statement must comply with the journal's Artificial Intelligence Use Policy. Authors may use one of the sample statements below or provide their own wording, provided it clearly specifies whether AI tools were used and identifies the purpose of such use. Sample statements:

  • No artificial intelligence tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript.
  • Artificial intelligence tools were used solely for language editing and stylistic improvement.
  • Artificial intelligence tools were used to assist with translation and language polishing.
  • Artificial intelligence tools were used to support outlining, drafting, and text refinement.
  • Artificial intelligence tools were used to assist with data organization and preliminary analytical support.

5.4 References

The reference list must contain at least 20 entries formatted in APA Style (7th edition) and must include up-to-date references from Web of Science, Scopus, and this journal. All references not in English must be transliterated (e.g., Ukrainian references should use ukrlit.org or grafiati.com). Self-citation must not exceed 10–15% of all references.

Include a DOI for all works that have one; at a minimum, include a URL. Do not use abstracts as references. Unpublished observations and personal communications may not be listed in the reference list.
